Training for a career in child care will give you the essential skills needed to work with young children who are aged 0-8.
What will I learn?

Apprenticeship or employment
- Employability Skills and CV writing
- Develop a trade as well as your personal and social skills
What are my career prospects?
The course also offers real work experience in one of our three nurseries so you can experience first hand what its like to work with children. There are also opportunities to gain further qualifications through the Ridgemond Apprenticeship Scheme.
Child Care qualifications will mean you can work in nurseries, crèches, as a childminder from home or as a babysitter.
We also will teach you in important life skills that will help you gain employment once you’ve qualified such as interviewing technique, job searching skills and CV writing.
What are the entry requirements?
In order to enter you must be 16-18, have an interest in Child Care as a career, and have a good attitude towards learning new skills and working with people.
You must also pass a CRB check.
