.Ridgemond Training: Intro to IT and Business Courses

IT Business Administration

Ridgemond Training runs two Information Technology (IT) and Business courses, these are IT Networking and Business and Administration. Both of these courses are delivered under the Foundation Learning Scheme and are aimed at giving a good basic understanding of the subject with practical, work related skills.

There are no formal entry requirements and we welcome all applicants aged 16 – 18 years with a general interest in the subject.

Once you have successfully completed your chosen course you will be awarded the following qualifications:

  • Level One Certificate in the appropriate subject.
  • Certificate in Functional Skills; maths, IT and English.
  • Certificate in Personal and Social Development (PSD) – maximum of five separate awards.

So studying for only one Foundation Learning Course can give you up to eight different qualifications that you can use either as a stepping stone to gaining further qualifications or to find a job. As well learning these key skills, we’ll also help you with preparing your CV and doing well in interview, to give you the best possible chance of succeeding.

Foundation Learning is all about going at your own pace and your programme will be tailored to your needs. If you wish to advance your career prospects achieving Foundation Level is the stepping stone to progress to a BTEC Level 2 Award, BTEC Level 3 Diploma and then university.

To apply for either the IT Networking or Business and Administration course, you need to be between 16 and 18 years old, not already at school or college and not working for more than 10 hours a week. The courses are all free of charge and in certain cases you may be eligible for help towards your travel costs.
