The Ridgemond course covers everything you need to know about
Warehousing and gives you the essential skills and accreditation
needed to get a job in the industry, including the national forklift
driver certificate, accredited by ITSSAR.
What are the entry requirements?
You will not need any formal qualification to join the course, a
mature and sensible outlook is expected though as you will be
handling heavy goods and machinery.
What will I study?
During the course you will learn everything about warehouse
activities including receiving goods in, storage and distribution,
packing goods, assembling orders for despatch, stock control and
health and safety.

The course also includes training to drive a forklift truck where
you will learn moving a truck in confined places, with and without
a load, equipment checks and stacking and unloading items at
different reaches.
What are my career prospects?
Once you have completed your forklift driver certificate you will be
registered on the ITSSAR National Operators Register, which is an
essential requirement if you want a career in forklift driving.
Most types of industry need warehousing operatives, so the
opportunities are very varied.
Career prospects are very good and your career could progress to
Warehouse Supervisor, Warehouse Team Leader, Warehouse Manager or
Operations Manager.
